The Doolie Project

Honouring Marc’s Legacy

In his early farming years, Marc created a Facebook page, Delage Farms Ltd. This page is where he began sharing his knowledge and farming practices with anyone interested, using social media to showcase the inner workings of a modern family farm.

We created the Doolie Project to honour Marc Delage's enthusiasm for agriculture, farming, and technology. Marc, nicknamed Doolie, was an outgoing AgVocate who enjoyed sharing his passion for agriculture with the community and proudly introduced a global audience to the experience of farming in Saskatchewan.

The Vision

In celebration of Marc’s love for the interconnectivity of agriculture, technology, learning and community,

The Doolie Project promotes:

  • The knowledge of agriculture and growing

  • An understanding of the role and application of technology in the growing cycle

  • Community engagement and access to careers and learning paths

  • Hands-on agricultural learning experiences for youth

Desired Outcomes

Through the Doolie Project, we strive to:

  • Provide youth and our community with access to real-life agricultural experiences

  • Expand our circle and provide learning opportunities to a broader audience by employing technology and social media.

  • Engage with other organizations and like-minded groups as partners in support of Marc's vision.

Project Structure

The Doolie Project is an annual series of mini-projects hosted by Delage Farms. The mini-projects provide the community with on-farm experiences and use social media to showcase farm activities and engage a larger, global audience.

Since the first iteration of the Doolie project, we've hosted on-farm experiences learning about our team and practices, a mini crop tour, and a moving grain demonstration. On-farm experience participants have enjoyed exploring combines and equipment, bouncy castles, and food and refreshments – in traditional Delage style!

Each year we select new initiatives that support the vision of the Doolie Project. Our most recent Doolie Project focused on technology used on our farm. We hosted an Open House which included:

  • A Grain Traceability Demonstration which allowed guests to witness how we track our grain. Participants were able to see all the technology involved in moving our grain from the field to our bins.

  • Interactive vendor presentations from our proud partners which showcased their involvement in our farm.

  • Multiple youth-oriented activities to help foster Marc's commitment to agriculture in the future generation of industry professionals.

Support the Doolie Project!

The success of the Doolie Project depends on the engagement and attendance of our community, and we are seeking sponsors for this year's activities. Please get in touch with us if you or your organization are interested in helping out!
